Jake sat in his barber chair reading Dorothy's latest issue of the Gazette. He had not a customer all day long and was wondering if anyone was going to come today.

Teresa, who was carrying her first child, walked slowly down the street, while heading towards the barber shop. She knew she wasn't meant to be up and about in her condition, but Jake had come home very late yesterday, having been in Denver the most of the day, so Teresa yawned to see her husband again. She remembered how peculiar he acted, as if he was hiding a secret from her and it bothered her that she didn't know what it was. As she approached the barber shop, a smile appeared on her face as she spotted Jake alone reading the Gazette.

Hearing someone come in Jake lowered his paper to see his wife and child walk in. He immediately got up so she could sit.
"Shouldn't you you be resting or something? You look tired." He said as he moved to the side of the chair.

Teresa: I'm fine Jake, I came to see you. She moved closer towards him and noticed his concerned look. Teresa: I slept most of the day away today, …...(She moved closer) And besides that, I ….I missed you very much, with you away almost the entire day yesterday. The lady at the boarding house was very kind to me, I was happy and most appreciative that I was able to stay there while you were away. She looked around, trying to spot something that might reveal her husbands secret. Teresa: But, you still haven't told me why you were in Denver Jake. I hope you don't intend to keep this from me. She gave a witty smile, yet feeling the demand to know the answer to her question.
