Colleen stood there and looked over to the crowds of people walking about doing their business in town. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she let her hands rub up and down on her arms, trying to warm herself, the young woman had not talked much from going to the bank and now at the dinning room.
She looked up and sighed gently as she turned to Andrew, "Are you sure he is coming?...and...and not setting us up?" she asked gently, though there was an edge to her voice.

Andrew: I doubt there’s any need to worry. Preston has always kept his word towards me, besides, he’s bringing along Annabelle and I have a feeling he wants me to get better acquainted with her, seeing as I am her physician while she’s staying here at the Chateau.

Walking quickly down the main stair case, Mr. Gormley headed towards Andrew and Colleen, who he had been told was to dine with Preston and Annabelle. When he reached the couple, he paused and looked curious around them and then addressed Andrew. Malvin: Pardon me Doctor Cook, but I was told Mr. Lodge would be accompanying you and your wife for dinner this evening?

Andrew looked at Colleen and then at Mr. Gormley.
Andrew: Yes that’s right, is something the matter?

Malvin: In a matter of speaking, yes…
Suddenly Preston arrived behind Mr. Gormley.
Preston: Mr. Gormley, are you looking for something?
Malvin was about to answer when Preston ignored him and took his interest towards Andrew and Colleen.
Preston: Forgive me, I was delayed.
He looked around and noticed that Annabelle was missing.
Preston: Where’s Annabelle?
Malvin: Sir, if I may…
Preston: What?
Malvin: Well sir, Mrs. Emerson informed me that she won’t be joining you for dinner this evening.
Preston: Won’t?
Malvin: She said she was feeling ill and was unable to accompany you.

Malvin: Ah, she did mention as well, that she did not wish to be disturbed for the remaining evening. Preston stood still, gazing into Mr. Gormley’s eyes, taking in the unfortunate news as he felt a sudden sadness.

Andrew: I suppose we should dine without her? I would have liked to exam her, but it is my duty to obey my patients’ wishes. Preston?

Preston, still in his paralyzed state, did not respond Andrew rapidly. Mr. Gormley, who had delivered his message, felt he was no longer needed and began to walk away, breaking Preston’s gaze. Taking in a deep breath, Preston turned his glance towards Andrew and Colleen with a false smile.
Preston: Yes, we should proceed without her.
He began walking into the dinning room, followed by Colleen and Andrew. They reached a table that was reserved for them and they all seated. Minutes passed without a word being spoken. Preston was thinking about Annabelle and how he had looked forward to this evening in her company. It was rather foolish, he thought, but he couldn’t help it.
