** Read the previous part with Preston & Annabelle at the café: Click Here **By having reached the bank, Preston went towards the door while having his glance fixed on Malvin. Preston: Mr. Gormley, please keep Annabelle with company while I’m gone. He turned his glance towards Annabelle. Preston: Annabelle, I won’t be long. My wearing isn’t quit suitable, so I’ll be in need of a change. He unlucked and opened the door to the bank and closed it quickly behind him. Malvin stood a little shy next to Annabelle, not knowing exactly what to say and the silence occurring made the situation awkward.

Since they left he Café, Annabelle felt hurt for Grace and the other young woman. Sure, chocolate cream can blob clothes, but no one was hurt by chance. She tried to smile to Malvin for broken the silence but it seem only put the man more awkward. Annabelle: Preston seem have a lot to think at this time. He had probably more planed for his day and my suddent arrival should disturb his schedule. Maybe it would be more preferable for me to return to the hotel and let him work.

Malvin: Mr. Lodge seems always busy from my side, but I wouldn’t know if you keeping some distends would be in his favor.
Malvin turned his face away from Annabelle and made a glance to the surroundings of the town. Everything seemed normal and quiet, nothing interesting to notice, so without thinking, Malvin turned his glance up towards the top bank-windows and was startled when he noticed Preston closing the curtains. He quickly pulled his glance away, feeling one awkward moment after another.

After eight minutes that lasted like a lifetime for Mr. Gormley, Preston finally opened the door from the bank, stepping outside. He smiled to Annabelle, making her notice his new suit before turning his glance over at Malvin. Preston: Mr. Gormley, there’s about five minutes till the bank opens again, so it’ll be best if you’d just return to your position now and make yourself ready for the next costumer. Malvin couldn’t help but feel a little annoyed. He was so hungry and hadn’t been able to take his lunch, but he couldn’t show his feelings - not towards Mr. Lodge. With a smile that quickly diminished, he went passed Preston. While passing, before entering the bank, he quickly replied. Malvin: Yes sir. Preston took a few steps towards Annabelle, still keeping his smile. Preston: I’d think it would be best if I took you to the hotel. I would imagine some rest would be agreeable and there’s the dinning room if you desire a meal. His expression changed and became more sorrowed. Preston: I’m once more sorry that I made you leave the café, I ...The situation caught me off guard. He extended his arm towards Annabelle. Preston: We should be able find a carriage close to the station. He turned his glance towards the station that was located only a short walk from the bank.

Annabelle: No worries Preston, I didn't had lot of appetite anyway.
She smiled to Preston trying to hide how needless she felt here in this town.
Annabelle: And yes, a rest would be welcome after this long walk.
Annabelle gave her arm to Preston.

With an even happier smile, Preston took Annabelle’s arm and they began walking towards the train station. Two carriages were ready to take passages and Preston and Annabelle took the first one and off they were to the chateau. **Continues at the Springs Chateau: Click Here**
