(The Emerson invited the Lodge familly in their summer house. Preston is 10, Albert is 11, Laura is 12, Richard is 13.)
At the Emerson's summer house, near the Colonial Beach, Laura wasn't able to stay sit at her piano. She knew that the Lodge would arrive for soon and she wanted to be able to change to coif her hair before Richard arrival. She play the last page of music quickly - in despite of her mother sigh.
Albert down the stairs and bring his fishing equipment in the living room. Laura grinned to the idea of the fishing.
Laura: You can't let this elsewhere?
Albert: You only have to look elsewhere!
Albert glanced to the window and see horses coming toward the house.
Albert: They arrive!
Laura: What? This is sooner!
She stood up and excuse herself to her mother and walked to her bedroom nervously.

In the afternoon, Albert and Preston were fishing at the river since an hour now. Suddently, the wind bring Preston hat on the river.
Preston: Watch the poles, I go search it.
Preston followed the river path during few minutes, but the wind push the hat more away.
Annabelle: You would need a rowboat if you want to collect your hat!
Preston turned back, surprise to heard that someone was behind him. At first sight, he noticed a girl with some dirty charcoal on her face and arm. His face didn't hide his surprise.
Annabelle: What? You never see charcoal before?
Preston: Your parents would probably not appreciate, no?
Annabelle: And why not? If we can't have fun during vacantions, what are vacantions for?
The girl walked toward the river, knelt and deposit a bag which we could see some charcoal in it.
Annabelle: That is for drawing., the charcoal. I prefer painting with the color, but we will take the train tomorow for go back at home. And the travel to the New-Orlean is long, so I would be able to draw soemthing during the travel.
The girl didn't notived if the boy listen her or not - when she start to talking, she never stop!
She finished to clean her face and glanced to Preston.
Annabelle: And you? I never saw you before here, do yo...
She was interrupted by the voice of her nanny. The woman ran in the wood for found the girl.
Nanny: Your father wait Miss. You should come at home now.
The girl shrug while smiling to Preston.
Annabelle: Sorry, Nanny call me. Maybe we could talk more a next time, who know?
And she left, running in direction of her nanny. Preston didn't move or answer, he stayed under the charm of her smile, looking at her running away.
Albert: Hey! What do you do?
Albert arrived, a fish at his pole, worried about not see Preston get back.
Albert: Preston?
Preston: Do you beleive in angel Albert?
Albert rose an eyesbrow, while Preston found himself stupid to not have asking her name, nor present himself to this charming girl - he didn't knew if he was dreaming of if she was really there few minutes ago..
