Day 2 - Morning - Horace buying lunch for Sam

[Horace Bing]

(Loren was occupied, filling new products on a shelf, when a sudden noise made him drop what he had in his hand. He turned around to find Horace standing right behind him)

Horace: Loren! I need food!

(Loren made a funny expression, since they were surrounded by food)



Horace: It’s Sam! I forgot to give her lunch today for school. It’s her first day today and, well she would need food, and since I haven’t got any proper at home, I was wondering if you would know what to buy in this situation.

(Horace looked around puzzled. Loren was just about to answer when Horace came before him with a suggestion)

Horace: An apple! Fresh fruit is just the thing, wouldn’t you say? You still charge ten cents for one apple?

(Horace began walking out the store to find an apple)

At the same time, Jake entered the store. His thought always left on Teresa - he wonder if everything was alright at the boarding house.

Jake: Are you ready Loren?

Loren turned back and looked at his old friend, surprised few seconds.

Loren: Oh... hmmm... yes, I will.

The old man didn't had time to complete everything he wanted in the store today, but he remembered promise to Jake to help him and they had a small trip to Denver to prepare.

Loren: Marcus, could you serve Horace? I will be busy, I count on you for take care of the place during my absence.

Marcus nodded, wondering about which absence he was talking. But to think that Mr. Bray made enought trusth in him, Marcus was proud of this.

Loren walked to the backroom for pick-up few things.

(Horace entered the store again with one of the biggest apples he could find. He went over to the counter and also took some candy near him. He then looked curious around trying to spot Loren who had vanished)

Horace shrugged and bought the apple and the candy, hoping it would be good enough for Sam. He knew she probably needed something besides candy, but he was in a rush. He waved to Marcus and headed quickly to the school.
