In his house, Charles Hensley was completing tio fill some paper, aloen in his desk room. All this years he worked hard to achieve all what he got in his life. By two time he had to start from zero again and it was hard for him to take this decision today.
After the military West Point academy - where his father sent him for forge his character, he followed his step father in the business. He married a widow, mother of a 1 year old daughter named Gwendolyn. In always try to raise up like his own child, after the birth of his son Christopher, the preference for his son was very visible.
When the civil war was declared, he put back his uniform for the army and let his business in the hand of his partner. But unfortunatly for him, when he was back form the war, his partner stolen all benefit and Charles lost everything and had to start from zero.
He did his best with the education of his children, but since the death of his wife during the pregnancy of his second child, he had difficulty to deal with the children and his investment. He rose them with the only manner he knew - as he learn at the military academy.
He put all his hope in his son, but while he was at Havard, he died after a fight with some classmate in a tavern. Charles continued to work alone, not trusting anyone in business again. With the market crisis few years ago, he lost a lot and started again from zero.
Now he have only Gwen, his adoptive daughter. He should married her many year ago, but prefered to have her on his side to take care of him with his sick health. He know he can trusth her, he raise her in his shadow, he was there for help her widow mother, paid everything for her education, he learn her to respect all he done for her and her mother, she had to stay devoted to him after all this.
The heart attack he had las week wasn't a good sign and the doctor refused that Charles work for the months to come.
No choice for Charles, he had to take a partner. But who trusth? There were a lot of money in this project. The land purchased in auction few months ago were full of potential. The land of Colorado was pefect for bring tourists and benefits!
