Description:
Malvin Gormley was born and raised in Denver, in a respected middle class family. He has a very close bond to his cousin Cath, daughter of Malvin´s godfather, who he sends a lot of letters, telling her every detail how his life is in the west. Being very fond of school, Malvin attended regular public school and later attended Denver collage where he finished at the age of 24, in 1870. A year later, while looking for work, he noticed an ad in the Denver post, announcing that a newly opened bank in the smaller town of Colorado Springs, was seeking a bank-clerk. Malvin took the opportunity and sent a telegram to the man owning the bank – Preston Lodge. Two weeks later he received a reply, asking him to come for a job interview the following week, which resulted in Malvin getting the job, as well as part-time at the Springs Chateau and Health Resort, as a hotel-organizer, taking care of personal businesses for Mr. Lodge.
In 1877, a woman – Myra, came to seek her old job back as a bank-clerk, leading Malvin to loose his job at the bank for a period of one year, which Malvin has a hard time accepting and feels less respected when having worked six years the same place without complain. This event has caused Malvin to have a disliking towards Myra.
Currently Malvin works fulltime at the Springs Chateau.
