When he heard the noise of the broken glass, Marucs left the backstore and rushed toward Evelyn. The little girl smiled with her most beautiful smile to the young man. Evelyn: My sister lost her doll, I thought it was here, but... Marcus: Your doll isn't here, you should come back to your mother before make more trouble. The young man knew that their mother wouldn't have the money for pay the broken bowl, he only wished found something else to said to Mr. Bray at his return in town. While helping Evelyn to step up, Marcus turned his glance toward Preston, nervous - half of his family income came from this gentleman and he felt small side of him. Marcus: Very sorry Mr. Lodge. If I can do something, just ask it.

Preston couldn’t bring himself to be cross with the little girls. He found children much better to get along than adults, because the way they were straight forward with things...
Preston: There’s no harm done. I’ll pay for the damage, but might you have some more candles in store, since I’m acquiring a larger amount.
As he watched the children leave, his thoughts were with them, wondering if he would ever have children.

Preston: Thank you.
After Marcus left to go into the back store, Preston continued glancing towards Matthew and noticed the woman accompanying him. She looked very familiar, but he couldn’t quite place her.

Emma went over to the things she needed, her hands searched for the correct button she wanted, however her eyes wandered over to the man that had asked for candle sticks. 'Have i met him before?' Her eyes still searching Preston, but on her lips was a smile, a small warm smile she held for the man whom she had a slight feeling she would come to know.
The young woman leaned back over the buttons, as she placed a strand of hair behind her ear, offering now Matthew a smile. "I was hoping to create Grace a blanket for when her child is born" Emma said softy.

Matthew caught Emma’s eyes when she returned her glance from Preston that was standing few meters away from them with a curious glance following their every move. Matthew: I think she would like that and knowing you, I know you’ll make it more beautiful than ever imagined. Matthew knew how talented Emma was with her seamstress work and truly admired her for it.

Marcus left the backstore with few candles.
Marcus: We have fourteen two candles of the same model Mr. Lodge.
He wasn't sure how many the businessman needed, but Loren repeated him more than often about offert more just in case.
Marcus: If you need more of a specific model, we could command it and it would be there tomorow with the noon o'clock train.
Marcus shoudl admit that he always felt ackward when it was time to discuss business with a customer - taking care of the store and the stocks was a thing, but when Loren was away, he felt something missing.
Marcus walked finally back of the counter, smiling to the customers.

Preston took the candles and followed Marcus to the counter. He placed the wooden box with his goods on the counter and looked at Marcus with a confident expression.
Preston: I’ll take the ones you have. They should last for a while.
He counted the candles he already had collected and the ones that had been brought from the back.
Preston: 54 candles, which comes to 1 dollar and 56 cents. Here’s 2 dollars. That should cover it plus the damage done.
He handed Marcus the money with his usual smile. With the box of candles placed on the counter, Preston moved his glance to a book displayed in front of him entitled "The Way Of Business". Preston shook his head, but still keeping his eye’s fixed on the book trying to search the front cover for the name of the author.

Emma had purchased buttons and ribbon to sew onto the blanket that she had decided to crochet. Thinking of the blanket she walked over towards the other counter and a pretty Cotton thread caught her eye, carrying her packages and the thread. Carelessly she walked back to the counter, her eyes down which caused her to bump gently into Preston. The man who stood by the counter. Button's and ribbon flew to the floor, landing like a waterfall hitting a rock on the floor. Her eyes looked up to the young man and her cheeks flushed, 'Oh noo' She thought.
Emma leaned down trying to collect her purchase, but her eyes kept making contact with Preston's eyes, searching the colors that framed his pupils. "I-I-I 'm sorry sir" She said not taking her eyes off him, as her hands fumbling, looking for objects.

Preston was startled by Emma. Did everyone just want to collide with him today he thought a few brief seconds, but now realizing that the person this time was the woman he had wondered who was, and now had recognized. Preston: I thought I recognized a familiar face! Emma, isn’t it? How did your plans of opening a dress shop work out? I certainly haven’t forgotten. You put every cent you had into your account while you were in town. He smiled while beginning to collect the last items Emma had dropped.

Emma smiled softly at Preston as he spoke to her about remembering her. "Of course, Mr Lodge" she said as it clicked in her head, whom it was and where she knew him from. 'Of course...he's the gentleman who helped me out, when i needed it the most' Emma thought as her eyes searched his, wanting answers to tell him about her business, but not having the right words to explain.
Emma kept her gaze on him as she opened her mouth to speak, she felt her cheeks turn a slightly pale red, as her hand now touched his, trying to pick up the same object. "oh- oh" she said flustered "i do apologize" she once again stated to the man, she withdrew her hand and brought it up to the other, gently brushing where his hand had touched. Her thoughts now gone blurry as she wondered if everyone within the shop could hear her heart beating, as it was loud enough to make her not hear words said.
The young woman shook her head gently from side to side, trying to clear her thoughts as the mist lifted off them, making her think now much clearer. Standing up, with now her full products back in their package, she shook Preston's hand, again her heart raced and she pulled back, ' Did he feel that sensation too?' she thought. But as she turned to look at the door, her eyes caught Matthews and she felt her stomach knot. However a smile was on her lips for Matthew and at that moment, all she wanted to do was go over to him and be held in his arms.

Preston: No need for an apology.
He noticed Emma turning her glance towards Matthew. Feeling awkward in his position, he still felt curious to know how Emma’s venture had developed. He remembered how fascinated he was when Emma opened an account, telling him about the reason for her savings.
Preston: I have always wondered if you ever managed to go further with your project, seeing as it looked promising.
