(Matthew and Emma had made their way to Grace’s Café after leaving the train station. Matthew glanced around, trying to spot a place for them to sit. All around it seemed booked, but to Matthew’s relief, a couple had just finished their meal and left) Matthew: There’s a table available. (He pointed towards the empty table and guided Emma to her seat. He took his hat off and seated as well. While noticing Grace fully occupied both dealing with costumers and her pregnancy, he glanced towards Emma, feeling happy by her company but uncertain of what to expect) Matthew: I think I’ll have a coffee and Grace’s recommended lunch specialty. How about you? (He glanced in Grace’s direction again and made a quick comment before Emma had a chance to answer him back) Matthew: Grace and Robert E…..They’re expecting a child now. (He glanced back at Emma with a smile) Matthew: I’m happy for them, after all they’ve been through. It’s been hard on Grace these past years, dealing with Anthony’s death and her first failed birth. I just hope everything will be alright this time. (Emma seemed to have something sad on her mind, so Matthew quickly changed the subject) Matthew: So, now you have to tell me, where’ve you been hiding out these four years? The last letter I received from you said that you and Gilda were taking a break from traveling and that you had found a part-time job in England for some fancy establishment. I was worried something might have happened, when you stopped writing to me. **Tag Emma /Grace**

Emma sat down opposite Matthew "I'll have the same, thank you Matthew" she said but found herself following his gaze as he looked at Grace. A small smile came to her lips. "I-I" she said in quiet voice, but she cleared her throat and continued "I hope so too" These words were few but genuine and that she did wish the best for Grace and Robert E. Anthony was a lovely little boy and for him to be gone was hard to understand. He was only young after all. Her thoughts were now with the fact that she could not have children. Looking down at her hands she began gently to rub one hand. Her thoughts swirling around in her head, her expression sad. But when she heard Matthew change the subject the young woman looked up. Listening to his question she nodded slightly. " It was a part- time job...but soon Gilda had to go to Boston....so i had to go with her...." Looking up into Matthew's eyes she noticed the colour of them seemed so bright and full of information. Bitting her lip, she heard his last few words. Emma had stopped writing to him. She had found it hard to write to the man she still had feelings for and to make enough money to live was hard enough. Sighing she looked down from his face and put her hand onto the table. "Boston...I've been in Boston" she continued to say. She placed one hand into her bag she had now rested by her feet. Feeling the letter that she held on the train, she looked down and ran her hand along the writing. Truth was she had written to Matthew, but could never find the right time to send them to him. "How is everything with you?" she asked as she looked up and the freshness of the wind blew gently through her hair.

(Matthew’s eyes widened when he heard about Boston) Matthew: You’ve lived in Boston!? You’re kidding right, that’s unbelievable. (He thought about the time he spent in Boston and that he couldn’t wait to get home. It was hard to imagine Emma living there and for such a long time, but strangely the city-life didn’t seem to have changed her way of being. She still acted innocent and sweet, not as those fancy Boston ladies he knew of that were snobs. He only hoped her strong hearted will hadn’t changed - that was a quality he admired about her. Matthew listened carefully to Emma’s words and then his turn came, to tell what’s been going on with him) Matthew: You know me I’m not much of an explorer. I like to stay here, be around family and all those familiar faces. (He thought a moment to what he should say next) Matthew: As you know, I’m not the town’s sheriff anymore. In my last letter to you, I wrote about my interest in law. Well, I’ve received a degree now, from the college in Denver, so I’m now able to practice my skill professional. (He looked at Emma with a proud smile, but then something else came to mind) Matthew: Will you be staying at the local boarding house? (He thought it probably wouldn’t be proper to offer her to stay at his homestead, also with the thought of not knowing how long she would be staying in town)

Emma listened to Matthew was he spoke, hearing the words that he was 'not much of an explorer' made her realize that her true instincts with him were right. She knew he was not much of an explorer, but knew he would help anyone in trouble and if that meant he had to get on his horse and ride until he found that person, made Emma think that he was an explorer in a different sense. Emma nodded hearing Matthew talk about his law degree. The proud smile he held, made her heart melt and she too joined in with the smile. She felt the proudness from him, she knew he had wanted it from the start and for him to follow his dream and complete it, made it even nicer. "Oh Matthew" she said with a gasp. "That is so great, you deserve such success" she said putting her hand on his arm. Looking down at the contact she pulled back alarmed that she shouldn't have done that. Placing the napkin onto her lap she coughed gently and turned to search his face. Bitting her lip she nodded slightly, "yes the boarding house, i-i am hoping to stay for a while, I've missed this place and ...." she stopped going of sentence. "The air is much cleaner here than Boston" she added with a smile on her lips, "oh Matthew" she said looking at him, she felt the joy of being here with him and being in the town. She was bubbling with joy, yet she knew she had to try and stay strong because she could not tell if Matthew felt that way.

(Matthew felt the comfort of Emma’s hand on his arm. He smiled to himself. He had truly missed her, with the support and concern she always showed him. Hearing once more about Boston, he began to show further interest) Matthew: So, what have you been doing in Boston, it must have been a challenging place to work. (While giving her an intense glance, he hoped she had not given up everything she had achieved in that city. He was still very confused of her sudden arrival and his feelings were all jumbled up)

(Daisy moved slowly into the café. She loved having her lunch everyday at the café instead of at home. She found her way to a table where some of her friends where seated) Daisy: Rachel, Anne..I hope you haven’t ordered without me. Anne: We sure haven’t. Rachel: You came just in time, Grace has been very busy. It’s seems as it’s more crowded here than usual. (Daisy took a seat next to Rachel and glanced around the café. Then suddenly something cut her eye) Daisy: Oh, look, look! Rachel: What? Anne: For goodness sake what? (Daisy pointed across their table) Daisy: Is that not? Anne: Who? Daisy: That girl sitting with that Matthew-boy. Rachel: Who is that? (She looked closer) No, it couldn’t be? Daisy: I believe it is! That famous seamstress! Anne: I haven’t seen her since, well since I can’t remember.. (The three elder women glanced curious and intense in the direction of Emma and Matthew)

Grace walked toward the women table and smiled, in despite that her she begun to felt her pregnancy take over her health. Grace hoped that for next week, Cassandra could help more ath the Café, especially that she knew that Robert E was worried for her and the baby health since the last experience with pregnancy.
Grace: Here is your drinks.
She put the cups on the table, while turning in the direction of their glances.
Grace walked towards Matthew and Emma.
Grace: Good afternoon.

Emma looked at Matthew and soon felt at ease once again, just like in the past. As she looked into his eyes, she felt the need to tell him everything that had happened to her throughout these four years but couldn't bring herself to say it out loud. "Boston was a challenge..." she was about to continue when Grace came over. Looking up at Grace as she came to their table, Emma first spoke out "Hello, Grace". With a smile she carried on talking to the woman whom she had not talked too since years ago. "How is pregnancy?...Matthew told me" she said with a gentle tone. "Congratulations" she finished off with saying. The young woman looked over at Matthew as she mentioned his name, she smiled at him, but inside she was broken, she knew she could not have children with the man she loved. But even worse was that she could not have children at all. She looked down at her hands but pulled herself together quickly and looked up flashing a smile at him and Grace.

Grace: Thank you Emma. Everything is fine Dr. Mike said. Keep it slowy and it would be alright. She smiled quickly - she knew that her pregnancy was a risk, especially since the last time, but she prefered keep the bad side far away of her mind. Grace: You are in visit in town? For how long? You must find our town very quiet side of all the cities you travelled this past years.

Matthew looked up with a smile when Grace approached. He was happy her and Emma seemed to get along after all those years that had passed. Still keeping a smile on his lips he patiently listened to Grace and Emma’s conversation. When Grace asked how long Emma would be staying in town, Matthew turned his glance directly at Emma with an intense interest.

Emma looked at Grace and smiled, “well its truly a gift” she said gently put her hand on Graces stomach. “May you have the happiness you deserve” she looked at Grace and heard her ask. “Oh I…well ….” She paused and looked between Matthew and Grace. “Hopefully for a while….i missed it here really….the busy streets of Boston was a challenge and well, there was not kind folks like you around there” Emma fell quiet. She looked down and felt the silence built up like a brick wall. Quickly thinking she looked up. “Well Grace how about I make you a baby blanket….my way of showing you kindness for what you did all those years back? Since I never did really thank you” Emma had quickly changed the topic from Boston to children, how ever much it did hurt her when she talked about children, she knew that she could love one even if it weren’t her own, and for the woman who stood in front of her pregnant she felt the joy for Grace. “……would you like any help getting our order ?” she asked.

Grace: That is very nice Emma, but we don't want to abuse of your time. She didn't wanted annoye the young woman with something so ordinary side of everything she should have done in the last years. Grace: Well, I should take your order before Mrs. Robinsons complain again. The woman glanced toward Mrs. Robinson table - she seem had nothing to do else than lost her time at the Café more than once - also searching for some gossips.

(He glanced in the direction of Mrs. Robinson and then back to Grace)

Emma listened to what Matthew said, it was like he remembered her favorite hot drink from nearly 4 years ago. She looked at Matthew and smiled, "you remembered" she whispered.Emma looked between Matthew and Grace. "Yes Grace, I will make a child blanket for you, it is no worry, I personally would be honored to do it" Emma flashed a sweet smile to Matthew before looking back up at Grace. "Please miss, the recommentations i would love to hear" she said with a nodd of her head.

Grace: Meat pie in brown sauce with boil potatoes and carrots. While Grace answering, Mrs. Robinsons stoop up and walked toward the table. Mrs. Robinson: My coffee is cold. A refill would be appropriate. Grace: As soon I finished with this table. Mrs. Robinson looked, with a snooty face at Grace then glanced few seconds to Emma. 'Another one' she thought to herself, while referring to the return of Myra this summer.
